Multi-Drop Driver Vacancy

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and organised individual to join our team as a multi-drop driver based in Edmonton, North London. This is a full-time role which will require early starts.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be driving company vehicles to our Clients throughout London and the United Kingdom. Following given routes, you will be responsible for safe collections and deliveries to and from customer's premises. The role involves some heavy lifting. It will be your responsibility to carry out collections and deliveries complying with our company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and secure working environment and due diligence at all times. As part of your normal duties, you will be required to stay away from home for no more than three weeks per year to carry out work that is too far to be completed in one day from the depot.

You will receive full on-the-job training and any off-site training will be arranged, and paid for in full by the company. The role will require some use of handheld barcode scanners, which you will receive full training on how to operate. For any periods you are required to stay away from home, the company will arrange and pay for a hotel and cover all expenses.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Requirements:

  • Hold a current full driving licence (for at least 3 years) with no more than 3 penalty points
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy containers safely, using manual handling techniques
  • Work accurately within guidelines and follow company procedures
  • Must have a good understanding of both written and verbal English and be able to communicate with customers and colleagues in English
  • Must be able to pass a personal credit check, identity check and criminal records check
  • Traceable 10 year employment/unemployment/educational history

Personal Requirements:

  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Flexible and helpful
  • The ability to communicate well and work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Approachable, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be presentable
  • Focused on delivery of customer service
  • Ability to keep calm in challenging situations
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work
  • Ability to stay away from home for no more than three weeks per year

Non-essential, but desirable criteria:

  • Previous experience in a driving role
  • Previous experience in a role that required considerable lifting and carrying
  • Previous experience dealing with challenging members of the public
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Security conscious
  • SIA CVIT licence preferred, but not essential
  • Good geographical knowledge

For the successful candidate, we offer the following:

Rate of Pay/Working Pattern

The current rate of pay is £27,000.00 per annum for working 40 hours per week, working any 5 days out of a 7 day period. Overtime is paid based on a weekly average.

Pension Scheme

You will be automatically enrolled in the company pension scheme (NEST), if eligible.

Holiday Entitlement

Holiday entitlement is 28 days per year and includes annual holiday days and public/bank holiday equivalent days and is pro rata to days worked. The holiday year runs from 1st January to 31st December.

Security Checks

Successful candidates will be required to undertake a number of security checks prior to employment commencing which include:

  • Up to a 10 year employment history
  • Financial credit check
  • DBS Criminal Record Check (Standard Level)
  • Full upto date Driving license/Driving License Check (where applicable to your role)
  • SIA CVIT License (which will be arranged for you by the Company).*

*SIA Licensing applies within the UK and you must complete the application process. The company will pay the total cost of the training course and the licence fee. However, should you leave, the company will deduct on a proportional basis.
